Orienting Last Layer Edges

This is the next part to solving a cube. These next two steps involving making the top all yellow. This assumes that the first two layers are complete. Right now, we are only looking at the yellow edge stickers (the last layer). Ignore all other colors and focus on the yellow stickers.

First, A yellow cross needs to be made and below is an example of the outcome of this step.

There are three cases and we are looking at the cube as if the yellow layer (last layer) is on the top. These three cases will be showing the top layer. Use the algorithm/follow the instructions and a yellow cross on the top layer will be solved.

Lucky case! Go on to the next step since the cross is already solved.

Case 1

F U R U’ R’ F’

Case 2

F R U R’ U’ F’

Case 3

F R U R’ U’ F’ U2 F U R U’ R’ F’

If you have followed the algorithms correctly for the right case, the cross should be solved and should look something like the first diagram. Now, you can continue with Orienting Last Layer Corners.
